Começou sem expectativas e hoje trabalha em uma Big Tech

Nem todo mundo começa gostando de inglês — e esse depoimento prova que tudo pode mudar com o jeito certo de aprender. De um começo sem grandes expectativas até uma virada de vida após um acidente, essa é a história de como aprender inglês com a English Project abriu portas para o Doglas, ajudou em um recomeço e foi essencial para conquistar uma vaga no mundo da tecnologia:

My story with English has always been complicated. I truly used to hate the language. I felt like they never taught it to me in a way that made sense. That's when, on August 20, 2020, I started classes with Ana at the English Project, in an unpretentious way, without big expectations.

At that time, I was working with customer service at weddings, and I realized the value of having English on my resume to assist foreign people, which became a differential. However, my big dream was to enter the world of IT, but the busy daily event routine made it almost impossible.

Everything changed drastically on May 18, 2021, when I suffered a motorcycle accident. The initial shock of trading an active and busy life for six months of bed rest was immense. But it was during this period that Ana's support and the English Project became fundamental. With more activities and intensified English classes kept me active and focused.

Coincidentally, this was the moment I decided to migrate to the IT field. And that's when English proved to be a real game-changer. A large part of the most relevant articles and documentation in the area are in English, and my newly acquired fluency was crucial for my development and learning.

Currently, I'm at my second multinational company, one of the biggest Big Techs in the world, and I use English constantly in my daily professional life. I'm immensely grateful to Ana and the English Project for transforming my relationship with the language and, consequently, boosting my career. It's an honor to be able to give back this help acting today as a monitor and assisting Ana with extra activities for the students. My journey is proof that with the right method and support, it's possible to go much further than we imagine.
